Hiring: Safety Manager Company: Alstom Location: Phoenix, AZ Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:00:40 Target Skills & Keywords : Phoenix, Risk Management About the job Experience: •Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a light rail operation. •Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a safety-related position, program, or management role within a transportation, transit, or rail environment. •Proven ability to apply safety principles and practices to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses, property damage, service interruptions, and environmental impacts. •Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) •Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) Required Skills: •Manage and administer all aspects of the organization's safety program, including policy development, implementation, monitoring, and enforcement. •Provide safety leadership, guidance, and support to operations, maintenance, and administrative departments. •Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), state, and local safety regulations and standards. •Conduct safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations of facilities, equipment, and operations. •Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are identified and implemented. •Develop, deliver, and coordinate safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management. •Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies. •Support emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and business continuity efforts. Qualifications: •Extensive knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to rail and transit operations. •Knowledge of OSHA requirements, accident investigation techniques, hazard analysis, risk management, and safety management systems. •Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. •Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement effective safety programs and training initiatives. •Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. •Demonstrated capacity to prepare reports, maintain records, and interpret safety data and trends. •Demonstrated capacity to respond effectively during emergencies and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. •Work is performed in office, site yard, and field environments. •Position may require work during evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations. •Occasional exposure to operational hazards associated with rail transit environments.
