Location: Fernley, NV Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 14:14:11 Employment Type: Full-time / On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office About the job Experience: •3-5 years’ safety experience and/or training in an industrial/distribution environment. •Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA regulations, hazard identification and corrections, environmental regulations, and workers compensation. •Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment as a machine operator, utilizing cranes/ industrial lift trucks and/or maintaining equipment, preferred. We are growing our team and are looking for motivated individuals. •Responsible for the continuous development of safety policies and procedures and ensures successful implementation of such at all Agru America manufacturing locations. The Safety Manager is ultimately responsible for continuously maintaining an effective workplace safety program and culture. •Ensures monthly training topics are covered as well as required annual refresher trainings. •Regularly conducts and/or coordinates on-site safety reviews/audits and job safety analysis at all locations to ensure compliance with safe working operations as specified and required by OSHA and company policy and procedure. •Follows up with plant management to ensure proper corrections are made on a timely basis in order to avoid potential OSHA penalties and to keep employees safe. •Continuously maintains accurate company safety manual and OSHA administrative paperwork to include training logs, OSHA 300 logs, OSHA postings and other information as required. •Develops and maintains an aggressive accident investigation program to include but not limited to: immediate detailed on-site investigation of all accidents, identification of root causes, developing effective programs to prevent reoccurrence, as well as company-wide communication and education on same. •Conducts ongoing analyses of accident trends for the development and implementation of strategies to effectively resolve actual or perceived Safety issues. Qualifications: •Demonstrated capacity to troubleshoot and multitask. •High attention to detail and is willing to learn. •Team player who is reliable and trustworthy. •Demonstrated capacity to multitask in a busy work environment. •Maintains a clean and safe work area. •Verbal and written communication skills in English. •Comfortable speaking in front of large groups. •Demonstrated capacity to exercise discretion amongst employees. •Continuously maintains a very strong knowledge of manufacturing safety, OSHA and blood borne pathogen requirements. •Must be able to remain calm and keep composure especially in high stress situations where blood or major bodily injuries could be a factor.
