Hiring: Royalties Analyst Company: X& Location: El Segundo, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:57:29 Employment Type: Full-time / On-site About the job Required Skills: •The Royalties Analyst tracks, reconciles, and collects royalty income for X&BM's clients. This is a full-time, on-site role in Los Angeles, reporting to the Royalties Director and working with the Business Managers and Account Executives on each client's book. •Statement processing. Receiving royalty statements from labels, publishers, distributors, collecting societies, and licensees, loading them into the royalty system, and reconciling every line against the client's contracts and expected income. •Entitlement tracking. Maintaining each client's map of works, rights, registrations, and deal terms so that every income stream has an expected amount, an expected date, and a payer. •Collection. Following up on late, short, or missing payments with the payer, and escalating persistent problems to the Royalties Director. •Registrations. Registering works and rights with collecting societies and distributors, and keeping registrations current as catalogs change. •Audit support. Assembling statement histories, contract terms, and variance analyses for royalty audits and recovery claims. •Reporting. Producing royalty income reports for each client and feeding the numbers into the client's cash forecast maintained by the Account Executive. •Discretion. Handling the income details of public figures with complete confidentiality, every day, without exception. Qualifications: •Two or more years in royalty administration, music or entertainment finance, publishing administration, or a collecting society. •Solid functional working knowledge of how royalty income flows across recording, publishing, performance, sync, and licensing, and of the major collecting societies and distributors. •Strong reconciliation and spreadsheet skills, and a habit of checking every line. •Demonstrated capacity to read a contract and pull out the economic terms. •A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, music business, or a related field. •Fluency in modern financial software. •Organization, persistence, and follow-through. Collections do not happen on their own. •Absolute discretion and the highest ethical standards. X&BM's clients are public figures, and confidentiality is non-negotiable.
