Required Skills: •Ensures completion of patient admission, history, assessment, & pain reassessment. Accurately prepares & completes the discharge planning process per department and hospital policies & procedures. •Conducts handoff with oncoming RN utilizing SBAR; documents in Cerner. Conducts assessments and documents. •Plans, implements, and documents the plan of care (i.e. high risk of falls) in collaboration with other disciplines and services to assure safe and efficient care. •Provides nursing care that includes: mechanical ventilation, IV site monitoring, suctioning, specimen collection, lines, tubes and drains, and assists medical team with procedures. •Follows physician’s orders and administers medication including drips. Adheres to six rights of medication administration. •Collaborates and rounds with a multi-disciplinary team during daily care planning rounds as appropriate and fosters a Family Centered Care Environment. •Utilizes electronic innovations to provide efficient patient care. Attends to patient call lights in a manner that promotes patient safety per hospital policy. •Reports critical values or change in status to the physicians within Procedure and Policy Standards of 30 minutes and documents clinician notification in Cerner. Qualifications: •RN - Registered Nurse RN Licensure within the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC) – maintain active and in good standing throughout employment •CPR BLS -American Heart Association BLS maintain active and in good standing throughout employment. •PALS - American Heart Association PALS maintain active and in good standing throughout employment. required within 2 years of hire date •ACLS - American Heart Association ACLS maintain active and in good standing throughout employment. required within 1 year of hire date •NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program maintain active and in good standing throughout employment. required within 1 year of hire date •BSN degree or currently enrolled in a BSN degree program. •Career Development: National certification preferably within 2-5 years of hire. •Proficiency in computers and Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred. •Analyzes and interprets data; utilizes information to make decisions regarding patient care. •Strong time management and prioritization skills.
