Required Skills: •Review routine lift instructions for load weight, center of gravity, pick and set points, travel route, rigging configuration, and assigned team roles. •Establish routine exclusion zones and verify crew positions, escape paths, signal method, travel-path clearance, and landing-area readiness. •Perform pre-use inspections of slings, shackles, hooks, eyebolts, chain hoists, and below-the-hook devices; remove defective gear from service. •Select routine rigging that matches the known load, hitch, connection point, environment, required reach, and rated capacity. •Use approved charts or tables to account for sling angle and hitch configuration and verify every connection and sling leg meets the required load. •Build standard vertical, choker, and basket hitches; verify sling seating, hardware orientation, edge protection, blocking, and tag-line placement. •Conduct controlled test lifts to confirm balance, rigging seating, brake response, and clear travel; correct only within the approved method. •Give accurate standard hand or radio signals for routine lifts when designated and qualified; stop when communication is unclear or interrupted.
