Hiring: Reliability Engineering Tech Company: Howmet Aerospace Location: Hampton, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:27:09 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Root Cause Analysis, Transformers About the job Experience: •3+ years of electrical experience working on and troubleshooting industrial manufacturing equipment. •3+ years of experience in reading electrical components and wiring diagrams for performing equipment repair. •3+ years of experience in rebuilding/repairing gearboxes, hydraulic systems (valve/solenoid/actuator), and mechanical drivetrains (Shafts/gears/bearings/seals). Required Skills: •Locates sources of problems by observation, using precision measuring and testing instruments. •Investigates failures and performs root cause analysis to eliminate systemic issues and improve long term performance •Evaluate preventive maintenance effectiveness and support TPM events •Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. •Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. •Troubleshoots 480Vac power systems and 120Vac electrical controls. •Uses calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments for determining dimensional data of components. •Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Qualifications: •Must be able to read basic blueprints to install equipment and components •Must be familiar with and provide all types of hand tools as required. •Must be able to work in varying heights up to and including 50 feet. •Must be able to communicate with various levels of personnel (Maintenance leadership, production leadership, and equipment operators). •Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops & reviewing technical publications. •Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
