Hiring: Quality Technician Company: Thales Location: Salt Lake City, UT Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 18:23:11 Employment Type: Hybrid Target Skills & Keywords : Lean Manufacturing, Microsoft Office, Root Cause Analysis, SAP, Six Sigma About the job Required Skills: •Thales is looking for a , whose role involves applying quality engineering principles, inspection methodologies, and continuous improvement practices to ensure product and process quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. •Perform receiving, in-process, final, and First Article Inspections (FAI) to verify materials and products comply with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. •Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program teams to implement quality requirements, support new product introductions, process validations, and supplier quality initiatives. •Lead investigations of nonconformances, quality escapes, and customer issues using root cause analysis, while developing and verifying corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to drive continuous improvement. •Analyze quality metrics, inspection results, and manufacturing performance trends to identify risks, reduce defects, improve product reliability, and enhance manufacturing efficiency. •Support internal and external audits by maintaining quality records, inspection documentation, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements. •Provide quality engineering expertise and guidance to manufacturing and cross-functional teams while supporting customer quality activities and driving operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience. •Solid functional working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, quality management systems, and experience performing receiving, in-process, final, and First Article Inspections (FAI). •Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data, identify trends, improve product and process performance, and apply statistical quality tools. •Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related business systems, along with the ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams. •Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer at the time of hire. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or for assuming sponsorship of an employment visa now or in the future. •ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or a similar quality certification. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards and electronics manufacturing processes. •Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt, or other continuous improvement training and experience.
