Hiring: Professional Development Events and Operations Coordinator Company: Cooley LLP Location: Santa Monica, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 10:43:25 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office About the job Experience: •After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications •Available to work overtime, as required •2+ years of direct related experience (e.g., administrative, project coordination or event coordination) Required Skills: •Maintain firmwide Professional Development calendar for PD events and Academies; distribute timely updates and changes •Coordinate scheduling and end-to-end logistics for PD events and initiatives (including PNC/SC) •Manage registrations, attendance, and event rooming lists •Provide onsite event support, including check-in, materials distribution, speaker support, and issue resolution •Liaise with Marketing, Creative, and Technology to coordinate event communications, deliverables, and technical requirements •Develop and maintain templates and tools for PD (e.g., tip sheets invitations, agendas, checklists, and evaluation forms) •Standardize procedures across annual Academies •Process invoices and expenses; support department budget tracking and documentation Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree •Interest in learning and applying firm-approved AI and automation tools to streamline administrative and event coordination workflows •Strong verbal and written communication skills •Demonstrated capacity to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple activities •Unwavering ability to handle and maintain confidentiality regarding firm information, projects, client data (if applicable) •High level of professionalism at all times •Continuous improvement mindset, with a natural curiosity for improving processes, adopting new technologies and creating more efficient, scalable ways of working •Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. •The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $30.50 - $45.00 ($63,440.00 - $93,600.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
