Experience may include internships and coursework. Required Skills: •The engineer will lead suppliers and guide the design of roof mechanism components while ensuring compliance with requirements, design rules, regulatory requirements, manufacturing assembly requirements, and key product attributes including package, design feasibility, NVH, water management, craftsmanship, and crash safety. •This is a fully onsite position, five days per week. •Design, develop, validate, release, and implement roof mechanism systems into vehicles. •Lead suppliers and guide the design and development of roof mechanism components. •Drive design improvements to increase quality and optimize cost and weight. •Manage product attributes including package, design feasibility, NVH, water management, craftsmanship, and crash safety. •Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver robust vehicle-level systems and validate roof component interfaces. •Prepare and present technical presentations for peer and management reviews. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. •CAD capability, such as CATIA, 3DX, or Teamcenter. •Operational familiarity with CAE tools and software. •Demonstrated capacity to open, cut sections, and measure 3D parts and assemblies using CAD; ability to create CAD files from scratch is preferred. •Mechanical engineering knowledge, including attribute-driven analysis, calculations, requirements, CAE, customer usage considerations, and engineering principles. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. •Demonstrated capacity to create clear and concise PowerPoint presentations using words and visual aids. •Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues effectively and efficiently. •Demonstrated ability to show initiative and prioritize workload. •Demonstrated capacity to travel domestically and internationally.
