Hiring: Procurement Manager – Fuel Services Company: United Airlines Location: Chicago, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 11:59:21 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office, Stakeholder Management About the job Experience: •3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, finance, analytics, or a related business discipline Required Skills: •Represent United in airport fuel committees, consortiums, governing bodies, and industry forums as assigned, including leadership, voting, negotiation, budget oversight, and stakeholder coordination responsibilities. •Own and execute multi-year fuel category strategies across fuel-facility maintenance and operations, into plane fueling services and related services. Lead complex sourcing events and commercial negotiations, including multi-airport, multi-supplier, high-value, or operationally critical agreements. •Direct supplier qualification, selection, contracting, transition, and governance activities; ensure commercial recommendations balance value, safety, quality, compliance, service, technology, and resilience. •Establish category road maps, financial targets, risk priorities, and implementation plans aligned with enterprise strategy, operational requirements, and capital programs. •Create and lead strategic supplier relationship management programs, executive business reviews, performance scorecards, corrective action plans, and continuous-improvement initiatives. •Advise senior leaders on supply-market dynamics, emerging risks, industry trends, sourcing scenarios, and investment or contract decisions. •Develop and deliver executive-level business cases and recommendations supported by spend, cost-driver, market, financial, operational, and performance analysis. •Please note: This role has a travel requirement of approximately 30% Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree required •Demonstrated experience with financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and business case development •Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills •Proficiency with data analysis, financial modeling, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications •Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship •Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification •Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position •Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies and procurement best practices •Professional certification related to procurement, supply chain, or finance (e.g., CPSM) •Demonstrates an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and effectively leverages them for research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving.
