Hiring: Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Emerging Technologies Attorney - Lakeland Company: Publix Super Markets Location: Lakeland, FL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-13 12:37:31 Employment Type: Contract / Remote Target Skills & Keywords : AI, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management About the job Experience: •2 years of experience advising on privacy and cybersecurity matters •1 year of experience advising on emerging technologies (including AI) Required Skills: •This position is located in Lakeland, FL and is an on-site position; remote work opportunities are not available for this role.* •If you’re passionate about law, innovation, and the future of responsible technology, this role will place you at the center of Publix’s enterprise-wide privacy and cyber strategy. •The Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Emerging Technologies Attorney will serve as a trusted legal advisor to cross-functional business partners, guiding the organization through an evolving landscape of data protection laws, cybersecurity obligations, and emerging technology risks. •Help shape Publix’s approach to responsible AI, data governance, and cyber preparedness, ensuring our enterprise adopts advanced technologies securely, ethically, and in full compliance with regulatory expectations. •This position reports directly to the Sr. Healthcare Privacy Regulatory Attorney & Manager. •Provide legal subject-matter expertise on privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technology regulations, offering guidance that supports secure, compliant, and ethical technology adoption across the enterprise. •Conduct legal risk assessments for emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—to identify compliance gaps, liability concerns, and governance needs. •Provide legal counsel during cybersecurity incidents, including breach notification analysis, investigative guidance, regulatory communications, and post-incident recommendations.
