Required Skills: •Electromechanical design, layout, modeling and production support of electro-mechanical assemblies and electronics packaging (using Solidworks and/or CREO). •Analysis of complex mechanical systems via ANSYS Workbench implementing both explicit and implicit modeling to study vibration, shock, fluids, Fluent, structural loading, and thermal responses / performance of the system. •Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) practices. •Create/update detailed designs and drawings for fabrication. •Interface with customers and vendors on a project engineering level. •Writing design specifications, reports, and proposals. •Presenting technical internal and customer presentations. •Perform tolerance analysis, check and approve detail designs and drawings Qualifications: •Direct project engineering or technical lead experience managing design tasks •Design of maritime systems and hardware •Design of robotic systems and hardware •Capable of following mechanical programs from inception through system integration •Capable of leading design teams of up to 6 engineers/designers •Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining processes •Knowledge of stage-gate and design cycle processes •Mechanical Engineering BS (or equivalent), MS preferred. •A strong understanding of structural systems, DOD shock/vibration and system dynamics is desired.
