Hiring: Principal Engineer, Process Inst. & Cont Company: Boehringer Ingelheim Location: St Joseph, MO Job Posted Time: 2026-09-13 13:03:53 Target Skills & Keywords : Accessibility, Microsoft Office, PLC, Root Cause Analysis About the job Experience: •18 years of age or older Required Skills: •Subject matter expert and bridge the gaps between calibration evaluations for entry into the CMS, vs. end user or engineering defined specifications •Perform/assist in development of/or revision of existing calibration procedures •Lead the instrumentation Critical Risk Assessment process, serves as Master Data Manager for calibration CMS, resolve errors in the database bridge communication network, and provide scheduling task management for all calibrated instruments •Strategic technical expert in assisting and performing assigned Out of Tolerance investigations, Reverse Traceability reports, CAPA's, to help identify root cause analysis, in depth troubleshooting, and providing appropriate actions •Delivers just-in-time and formal training as needed for usage and calibrations with calibration technicians, site services, and end users •As needed, provide managerial direction for various electronic systems, such as CMMS, CMS, Ereq system, Trackwise, etc. This includes reviewing and approving various calibration documentation and work orders performed by others •Strategically drive site's calibration group change control process, by working with end users, engineering, maintenance, and vendors to upgrade obsolete instrumentation, or to assist in identifying more appropriate instrumentation for current processes •Perform calibration work as needed due to shutdowns, technician absences, and/or to avoid production schedule interruptions Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering (Automation, Systems, Computer, Industrial, Technology, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation) or related field with a minimum of five (5) years relevant PLC, calibration, instrumentation, automation, and/or process controls experience in a cGMP operations organization or similar environment required •Proven ability in leading projects, resolving manufacturing issues, and driving operational improvements •Creating and executing just-in-time and formal training programs •Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction •Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required) •Must be 18 years of age or older •Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities •With us, you can develop your own path in a company with a culture that knows our differences are our strengths - and break new ground in the drive to make millions of lives better. •Here, your development is our priority.
