Hiring: Principal Engineer - BESS Company: NextEra Energy Resources Location: Juno Beach, FL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 14:48:23 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Project Management, Systems Design About the job Experience: •5+ Years experience Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction. •Expertise in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design. •Operational familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters. •Operational familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections). •Demonstrated capacity to handle specialized technical tasks independently. Required Skills: •Employees in this role have the responsibility of planning, designing, and executing various aspects of energy storage projects. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, engineering oversight and consulting across cross functional teams to deliver a best-in-class product. •The ideal candidate embodies a blend of technical expertise with strong project management skills, and has pertinent experience the energy storage field. •Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects. •Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency. •Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions. •Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts. •Support projects from inception to completion by working closely with project managers. •Influence project teams on engineering tasks. Qualifications: •The base pay range for this position is $60.77 to $91.15 per hour.
