Hiring: Principal Director - Cyber & Space Assurance Company: The Aerospace Corporation Location: El Segundo, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 10:29:10 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : AI, Encryption, Machine Learning, Regulatory Compliance, Zero Trust About the job Experience: •Prior management role in direct support of a government customer in program office •Knowledge and experience with government or commercial cybersecurity ops center operations •Operational familiarity with the unique challenges of deploying workloads and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) frameworks within defense networks •Space & RF Spectrum: Familiarity with ITU (International Telecommunication Union) filing processes, NTIA regulations, or space domain awareness (SDA) / space debris compliance frameworks •Leadership Competencies Required Skills: •Lead a specialized team focused on ensuring the security, regulatory compliance, and mission resilience of critical national security systems. •The Principal Director will manage resources and staffing while coordinating activities across multiple organizations, including Government personnel, Aerospace, SETA, SE&I, and development contractors. Qualifications: •What You Need to be Successful •Minimum 13 years of progressively demonstrated management and technical experience, including cyber systems engineering •Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or equivalent discipline •Knowledge of operational mission analysis, Joint Force Doctrine on Cyberspace Operations, DoD cybersecurity policies, NSA cryptographic approval processes, and/or Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) •Previous people management experience and the ability to perform resource planning, staffing, coaching and mentoring, and performance and development of team. •Demonstrated experience with building, leading, and maintaining integrated multidisciplinary mixed government, SE&I, SETA and FFRDC teams with diverse skills mix •Demonstrated experience working across organizations and leading teams; success as a relationship builder, complex problem solver, deep critical thinker, mentor, and coach •Demonstrated technical leadership, mature judgement and strong interpersonal skills •Excellent social skills enabling effective communication and relationship building with customers, direct reports, colleagues, and senior management. •Demonstrated capacity to travel as required (approx. 20%) Compensation: •$208,000 - $312,000 / year •Flexible work environment (work from home / hybrid options) Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
