Hiring: Preconstruction Associate Company: Jupiter Power Location: Chicago, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-12 13:58:02 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Project Management About the job Experience: •2 years of engineering, procurement, and/or construction experience, ideally in the power industry across battery energy storage systems, renewables, data centers, or thermal generation. •Minimum 2 years of engineering, procurement, and/or construction experience, ideally in the power industry across battery energy storage systems, renewables, data centers, or thermal generation. Required Skills: •Manage and oversee the pre-construction process for battery energy storage projects, ensuring smooth transitions between late-stage development and project construction. •Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., development, engineering, construction, operations) to align on project timelines, deliverables, and handover requirements. Develop and implement standardized processes and workflows for the pre-construction process, ensuring consistency and efficiency. •Support finance teams throughout the pre-construction process, from building CapEx estimates at development stage through to providing timely project information and responses during the financial close due-diligence process. •Act as the main point of contact for clients during the projects’ late-stage development and handover phases, addressing questions and ensuring their needs are met. •Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety standards during project handover. •Create a project handoff sheet outlining all major technical and commercial details of late-stage development projects. •Track and report on key performance metrics for pre-construction workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimizing •Manage project documentation, including contracts, EPC contractor documents, design specifications Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, renewable energy, or related field. •PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification preferred.
