Hiring: Plant Engineer-1 Company: Evonik Location: Mapleton, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-02 17:57:02 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Process Troubleshooting, Process Safety Management (PSM), CAPEX, OEE, Project Management, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, KPIs, Regulatory Compliance, SAP, Emerson Delta-V, ASPEN IP21, Microsoft Office 365 Experience: - B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of engineering experience - Experience preferred in a chemical or oil & gas manufacturing environment Required Skills: - Day-to-day technical support to plant operations - Troubleshooting equipment and process issues - Supporting safety, reliability, and efficiency of production - Process troubleshooting, new product introductions, process safety management systems, CAPEX, and OEE - Project management for plant-related projects up to $500,000 in value - Full technical responsibility for the care and condition of plants in cooperation with operations - Ensuring defined technical availability of production plants - Collaborating with site engineering, external engineering contractors, and maintenance - Initiating studies, projects, and new developments with a focus on long-term technical solutions - Providing plant-specific technical expertise in process engineering, equipment innovations, and state-of-the-art process and project techniques - Supporting audits and improvement activities such as 5S, KPIs, and Root Cause analysis - Ensuring regulatory compliance of technical installations, maintenance practices, and technical documentation - Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently with strong initiative and self-starting skills - Ability to manage a heavy workload, establish priorities, and adjust based on site and business needs - Strong planning, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills - Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office 365 Qualifications: - B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering - 3+ years of engineering experience - Experience with OSHA CFR 1910.119 PSM and EPA RMP regulations and compliance is a plus - Working knowledge with SAP, Emerson Delta-V, ASPEN IP21 is a plus - Comfortable working with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and safety teams in a plant environment Compensation: - Pay Range: $94,600 - $157,700 - Comprehensive benefit package including Medical, dental, and vision benefits; Paid time off plan; 401(k) savings plans; Health Savings Account (HSA); Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs); Employee Assistance Program; Voluntary Benefits and Employee Discounts; Disability benefits; Life Insurance; Parental leave; Tuition Reimbursement Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
