Hiring: Peer Crisis Support Specialist - Living Room Company: Trilogy Location: Chicago, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 21:35:12 Target Skills & Keywords : HIPAA About the job Required Skills: •Welcome and engage guests using a warm, respectful, and recovery-oriented approach that promotes trust, safety, and connection. •Utilize lived experience appropriately to provide peer support, instill hope, reduce stigma, and encourage recovery. •Assist with guest intake, assessment, orientation, environmental readiness, and operational activities that support daily Living Room operations. •Build supportive relationships with guests through active listening, shared experiences, and person-centered engagement. •Assist guests in identifying strengths, goals, coping strategies, and resources that support wellness and recovery. •Actively facilitate and support development of wellness plans, recovery plans, safety plans, and other individualized supports based on guest needs and preferences. •Provide emotional support, encouragement, advocacy, and recovery coaching to individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges. •Assist guests in accessing community resources, behavioral health services, housing supports, benefits, recovery programs, and other needed services. Qualifications: •Active Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) certification required upon hire. •Lived experience with mental health recovery and/or substance use recovery, with the ability to utilize lived experience professionally in a peer support setting. •High school diploma or GED required. •Associate's or bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred. •Knowledge of recovery-oriented care, trauma-informed practices, harm reduction principles, and peer support services. •Understanding of behavioral health systems, community resources, and recovery support services preferred. •Demonstrated capacity to establish effective and compassionate relationships with individuals experiencing emotional distress or behavioral health challenges. •Strong interpersonal, communication, advocacy, and engagement skills. •Demonstrated capacity to maintain accurate and timely documentation. •Proficiency with electronic health record systems and basic computer applications.
