Hiring: Patient Service Technician I/II - Lab Services - Kelsey Seybold West Campus A Company: Optum Location: Katy, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 07:41:32 Employment Type: Full-time About the job Experience: •1 year of directly related experience as a phlebotomist in a patient service center, clinic, or hospital setting •2+ years of experience required if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 3+ years of directly related experience as a phlebotomist in a patient service center, clinic, or hospital setting with 1 year of waived testing and specimen processing experience in clinical setting Required Skills: •Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, and other collection services as ordered by the provider •Perform CLIA waived testing (i.e. urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick blood glucose levels, fecal occult blood tests, rapid influenza tests, finger stick PT/INR, Monospots, sed rates, rapid streps) as described in the laboratory procedure •Maintain accurate laboratory records and make available for inspections /audits by Lab Supervisor, Lab Director, Lab Consultant and CLIA Surveyors •Perform necessary quality controls; participate in proficiency testing program as required, maintain lab instruments as indicated by manufacturer recommendations and will follow all safety guidelines in effect •Includes all duties of Patient Services Technician I •You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. •High School Diploma or GED •BLS certification through the American Heart Association; must obtain within 30 days of hires.
