Required Skills: •Works closely with clinical staff. •Establish good communication with other departments, team members, other physician offices, hospitals, or patients in response to requests for information, follow up, or problem solving as needed. •Ensures all insurance, demographic and eligibility information is in the system. •Schedules return appointments for patients including for the infusion room •Order entry as ordered by MD. •Submits electronic tasks for pre-authorization of services and/or referrals. •Schedules new treatments as directed by supervisor. •Provides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions. Maintains and updates physician schedules ensuring patients are scheduled property. Works in conjunction with the nurses/P.A to accommodate scheduling requests. Qualifications: •High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1year medical office experience highly desired. •Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. •Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position. •Demonstrated capacity to handle and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask. •Previous knowledge of Electronic Medical Records required •Previous Oncology experience highly desired. •Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) highly desired. •Adaptability: Handles day to day work challenges confidently; is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities; demonstrates flexibility. •Commits to Quality: Emphasizes the need to deliver quality products and/or services to patients, families as well as physicians and other staff members. •Illinois Cancer Specialists is united in healing with The US Oncology Network, one of the nation’s largest networks of integrated, community-based oncology practices dedicated to advancing high-quality, evidence-based cancer care.
