Hiring: Operations Specialist, Sr Company: Entergy Location: The Woodlands, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 11:12:45 Employment Type: Remote Target Skills & Keywords : AI, Root Cause Analysis About the job Required Skills: •Work assigned shift in the ROCC to operate Entergy renewable fleet and monitor resource operation & performance. •Operate multiple renewable facilities from the ROCC. •Monitor reliability & performance of Entergy fossil fleet and provide guidance where applicable. •Review and assess resource equipment condition using APR software. •Create, tune, and implement APR models utilizing APR software. •Monitor equipment performance and operational trends to predict component health and deviation from operational standards. •Triage developing issues to appropriate plant/engineering contacts and advise course of action, alerting SME's and resource personnel of anomalies which could adversely affect the reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance of equipment. •Track problems and issues to resolution, including participation in root cause analysis process. Qualifications: •High School graduate. Training in power plant operations, power plant systems and power plant performance or corresponding technical training from an accredited school •Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required Of The Position •Strong working knowledge of rotating components such as pumps, motors, steam turbines, generators, and field instrumentation •Demonstrated capacity to recognize off normal conditions and trends in critical equipment parameters. •Strong working knowledge of operations of natural gas combined cycle and peaking plant technologies, coal fired power plants, renewable plants, and associated systems with the ability to recognize off normal conditions and trends in unit operations during startup, shut down, and on-line operations. •Good understanding of power plant performance (thermal, physical, operational, and environmental) •Familiar with (APR) software. SmartSignal knowledge preferred. •Understand condition-based maintenance programs and technology applications. •Familiar with basic functions of MISO and Entergy's operation within the market. •Possess interpersonal and communication skills necessary to develop relationships with other Plant Support and Operations personnel that promotes an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.
