Hiring: Occupational Safety Program Manager 534235 Company: Oklahoma State University Location: Stillwater, OK Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 10:23:05 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : React About the job Required Skills: •Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines •Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety •Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law •Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention •Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations •Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions •Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims •Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures Qualifications: •Bachelor's Safety Engineering or related field (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) •Three years of experience required working as a safety professional, an Industrial Hygienist and/or in Public Health work. •Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Have before hire and maintain after hire a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job dutiesas assigned. •Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED. If needed, certifications will be provided by the department within six months of employment. •Additional recertifications will be provided throughout employment as required to remain up-to-date. •Demonstrated capacity to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. •Demonstrated capacity to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. •Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. •Expert knowledge of OSHA Regulations. •Solid functional working knowledge of CDC and American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Regulations and a working knowledge of the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL).
