This position supports the Marine Transportation Department and is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring Midshipmen, and contributing to departmental and institutional activities •This position is contingent on the award of a federal contract. •Deliver undergraduate-level instruction within the Marine Transportation Department. •Integrated Navigation I, II & III Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marine Transportation or a related field. •Practical experience as a licensed deck officer. •Current U.S. Coast Guard License as Second Mate, Unlimited Tonnage, or higher. •Current STCW credential as amended under the International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). •FCC GMDSS Operator endorsement required. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related software. •Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. •Demonstrated capacity to obtain and maintain all required government background and security requirements. •One or more years of college-level teaching experience. •Tankerman PIC endorsement for Dangerous Liquids (DL) or Liquified Gas (LG).
