Required Skills: •Translates designs into software by analyzing functional specifications and interpreting complex system design specifications and provides systems engineering support on large- scale systems, major system elements, and/or interfacing systems, requiring extensive investigation and clarification. •Develops functional block diagrams and data/logic flow charts. Develops strategic and implementation plans for large-scale information systems. •Codes, integrates, tests, debugs, and refines the software to produce the required product. •Designs complex software tools and subsystems to support software development, test, and reuse, and manages their implementation. •Enhances software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency. •Develops system architecture and design including software, hardware, communications and interface requirements. •Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes design interfaces. Prepares, reviews, and evaluates interface documentation, specifications, test plans and procedures. •Conducts analysis to define, analyze and allocate requirements. Prepares program-level and user-level documentation. Qualifications: •10+ years of experience in software development with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering •Or Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering) and 8+ years of software development experience •Or 14+ years of related software development experience in lieu of degree. •Expert level of C/C++/Golang or similar programming experience in a Linux environment including TCP/IP network programming and device drivers. •Operational familiarity with network security methodologies a plus. •Designs, develops, and maintains cloud-native architectures on Amazon Web Services (AWS), selecting and integrating services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, API Gateway, IoT Core, and Kinesis to support ground-based and airborne system elements. •Develops hybrid and edge-to-cloud architectures that connect onboard avionics and in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) systems to ground-based cloud platforms, accounting for intermittent connectivity, bandwidth constraints, and data synchronization requirements. •Defines cloud reference architectures, service boundaries, and integration patterns for large-scale distributed systems, and leads architecture reviews with internal and external stakeholders. •Leads cloud migration and modernization efforts, including assessment of legacy systems, migration strategy and sequencing, refactoring to microservices or serverless patterns, and cutover planning. •Prior experience with multimedia application development including streaming audio/video servers and clients highly desirable.
