Hiring: MO Company: SSAB Location: Northport, AL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 15:14:11 Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly About the job Experience: •1 - 2+ years of experience as a welder/fitter in a production/manufacturing setting •Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, problem-solving skills and high attention to detail •Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments •Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods •Demonstrated capacity to identify, measure material and produce quality products consistently Required Skills: •Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders. •Measure, mark, cut, and fit metal components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment. •Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding as required. •Assemble and tack weld components to prepare for final welding. •Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments such as tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers. •Operate fabrication equipment to include grinders, saws, torches, drills, ironworkers, and plasma cutters. •Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications. •Repair defective welds and make necessary adjustments.
