Hiring: Mineral Processing Specialist Company: Sibelco Group Location: Spruce Pine, NC Job Posted Time: 2026-09-09 17:57:31 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords: Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Comminution, Sizing, Concentration, Froth Flotation, Magnetic Separation, Electrostatic Separation, Dewatering Systems, Process Simulation, Mass & Water Balances, Process Audits, Flowsheet Development, P&IDs, Process Control & Automation Experience: - Minimum of a Master's Degree or equivalent with a study background in Mineral Processes - Demonstrated technical and management skills - Experience in process design, testing programs, and process optimization across laboratory, pilot, and plant scales Required Skills: - Research process design for existing and new mineral processes across all fields of extractive metallurgy: comminution, sizing, concentration, froth flotation, magnetic and electrostatic separation, and dewatering systems - Assess and recommend applicability of emerging and established mineral separation technologies, with particular attention to flotation and physico-chemical separation methods - Plan, coordinate, and critically evaluate laboratory-, pilot-, and plant-scale testing programs, including internal and third-party test work - Perform process simulations, calculations, and sensitivity analyses to support process development, optimization, and scale-up - Prepare and reconcile mass and water balances for existing and proposed circuits; conduct process audits and performance reviews - Develop conceptual and preliminary process flowsheets for new or optimized circuits, including selection and specification of key equipment - Provide process engineering support for layouts, drawings, P&IDs, and interfaces with process control and automation systems Qualifications: - A safety mindset, aligned with Sibelco's "Going for Zero" safety improvement program (safe plants, safe systems, safe behaviors) - Ability to motivate people without having authority over them (ability to lead) and to think out of the box - Excellent written and verbal skills - Ability to work in a collaborative team environment Compensation: - Healthcare Benefits – medical, vision, dental - 401K with company matching and fixed annual contributions - Vacation + Paid Holidays - Disability, Life / AD&D, and Long Term Care Insurances - Employee Assistance Program Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
