Hiring: Metrology Engineer Company: Commonwealth Fusion Systems Location: Devens, MA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 11:25:36 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : AutoCAD, CAD, Confluence, Jira, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Microsoft Excel, R, Siemens NX About the job Experience: •CMM programming experience (ZEISS Calypso preferred) •CAD design experience (Siemens NX preferred) •Solid functional working knowledge of quality systems fundamentals •Comfort using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or similar collaboration platforms •Applied hands-on capability in a range of metrology equipment and measurement approaches Required Skills: •Develop and refine advanced mechanical inspection techniques to solve complex measurement challenges •Qualify and document inspection methods in partnership with Quality Engineering (procedures, work instructions, and evidence of capability) •Collaborate daily with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to support production readiness and rapid issue resolution •Support evaluation and selection of new metrology equipment and technologies, including ROI, capability, and implementation planning •Maintain metrology equipment and standards; execute 5S and calibration/verification activities as applicable •Provide design-for-inspection input during drawing release, GD&T definition, and development of inspection standards •Cross-train as a Quality Technician and perform routine inspections as needed to support throughput •Summarize, visualize, and present critical dimensional inspection results to technical and non-technical stakeholders Qualifications: •Demonstrated capacity to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs •Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time •Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics •Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally Compensation: •$70,000 - $120,000 / year Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
