Hiring: Med Tech Coordinator - Transfusion Medicine - Evening Shift Company: Children's National Hospital Location: Washington, DC Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 10:38:25 Target Skills & Keywords : Quality Assurance About the job Experience: •3 years Related and progressive experience (Required) •1-year supervisory experience (Required) •Must successfully complete the CNMC Trustworthiness and Reliability assessment, including fingerprinting, as a requirement of the position •Medical Technologist (MT) Registry or eligible as MT(ASCP). •Certified as a technologist by HEW or a similar regulatory agency. (Required) Required Skills: •The incumbent to this position will perform Blood Bank and Donor Center procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsible to investigate and resolve complex technical problems. Assist the Manager with the technical direction and day-to-day operations of Transfusion Medicine. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science. (Required) •Perform routine and specialized technical procedures in Transfusion Medicine in accordance with standard operating procedures; serve as a technical resource for Transfusion Medicine staff as well as physicians and other hospital staff. •Assist the Manager and Medical Directors to maintain accreditation and licensure, organize work, meet prescribed deadlines, update computer programs, and investigate and establish new methods and procedures. •Oversee operation of instruments and equipment; conduct performance checks, calibrations, and perform preventative maintenance per regulatory guidelines. •Establish and oversee Quality Assurance / Quality Control / Variance Reporting / Performance Improvement programs; monitor analyses of proficiency testing samples. •Speak up when team members appear to exhibit unsafe behavior or performance •Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation •Stop in the face of uncertainty and takes time to resolve the situation •Demonstrate accurate, clear and timely verbal and written communication •Actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors and co-workers Compensation: •$82,222 - $137,051 / year •Competitive benefits and rewards package Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
