Hiring: Mechanical Technician Level 2 (1st Shift) Company: Unison Location: St George, UT Job Posted Time: 2026-09-12 13:42:54 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly, AutoCAD, CAD, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Microsoft Office, Project Management, Python, R, Root Cause Analysis About the job Experience: •5+ years of experience working in Aviation, Aerospace, space, or automotive industry in a technical, hands-on capacity working with test, performance and safety critical hardware assemblies that require high attention to detail and quality of workmanship. •Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mentor or leadership role. •5+ years’ technical experience in either mechanical or electrical assembly, integration, and/or test. •Some experience in handling large aerospace components and assembling large tight tolerance structures. •Solid functional working knowledge of high voltage safety: 480VAC, 208VAC, 270VDC, 900+VDC. Working knowledge of ESD safety. Required Skills: •Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions. •Interface directly with engineering to create test procedures, plans, and schedule. •Read and accurately interpret engineering models, drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, specifications, and testing requirements. •Take initiative to clarify uncertainties and, in cooperation with engineering and other technical staff, resolve and/or correct issues as appropriate. •Able to operate machines, hand tools, power tools, and refrigerant equipment in an aerospace AS9100 environment. •Set up and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, electrical/ optical measuring instruments. •Stage, assemble, install, and inspect aerospace mechanical, electrical, and fluid components by interpreting and utilizing engineering drawings, provided specifications, written assembly instructions, and test procedures. •Support engineering by leading diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and fluid assemblies from the component level to full system level builds. Qualifications: •Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution. •This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining. •This role requires sitting, walking, or standing for several hours at a time. This role requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting heavier items with assistance from other workers or equipment.
