Hiring: Mechanical Maintenance Technician Company: BlueScope Coated Products Location: Marietta, GA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:44:32 Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly About the job Experience: •3+ year of experience in an industrial maintenance position. •Mechanical capability to repair and/or analyze production equipment. •Knowledge of heavy equipment, overhead crane and rigging principles. •Demonstrated capacity to read, interpret and understand blueprints, manuals and assembly directions. •Proficient communication skills – particularly, the ability to explain complex mechanical issues. Required Skills: •Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, hydraulic and/or pneumatic components in manufacturing equipment. •Plan, implement and maintain preventative maintenance program on engines, motors, pumps, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems and production machines in order to improve reliability. •Performs routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance. •Study equipment manuals to develop audit items and preventative maintenance schedule. •Perform basic welding duties, fabricating fixtures, jigs, guarding, etc. as needed. •Install or assist in the installation of new equipment, including proper layout and alignment. •Makes preventative maintenance checks and inspections as required and on time. •Evaluate equipment malfunctions with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime. Qualifications: •Metals, coating, roll forming or industrial maintenance experience •Demonstrates strong computer proficiency, including the ability to learn and use new systems. •Demonstrates strong practical aptitude in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues; able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team. •Demonstrated capacity to learn processes, equipment specifications, and company standards through active use of resources, manuals, training, policies, and collaboration with colleagues. •Demonstrated capacity to work up to 12-hour shifts •Demonstrated capacity to pass a background check and drug test as a condition of employment •High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
