Required Skills: •Create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks and other CAD tools to support product development and manufacturing. •Develop mechanical designs for components, assemblies, and systems with attention to function, manufacturability, cost and reliability. •Partner cross-functionally with electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical and automation systems. •Build and test prototypes, perform hands-on troubleshooting, and iterate designs based on test results and feedback. •Perform engineering analysis including tolerance stack-ups, FEA basics, and stress/thermal assessments; apply GD&T to drawings. •Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical documentation to support production and quality control. •Support manufacturing transfer, supplier selection, and production troubleshooting to resolve issues and reduce scrap. •Drive continuous improvement efforts, standardize components and processes, and participate in design reviews and project meetings. Qualifications: •Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Masters degree or professional registration (PE) is a plus. •Proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD tools, with a strong portfolio of component and assembly designs. •Applied hands-on capability in prototyping, testing, and root-cause troubleshooting; ability to use measurement tools and interpret test data. •Background in automation systems, including mechanical integration with actuators, sensors, and basic PLC or motion control concepts preferred. •Strong communication skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines. •Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to producing robust, manufacturable designs.
