You will complete defined assignments with guidance and learn medical-device development practices. •Support mechanical design of the Virtual Incision miniature surgical robotic systems. •Help define, document, and trace hardware requirements. •Perform calculations, tolerance analyses, trade studies, and failure analysis with guidance. •Create CAD models, drawings, BOMs, prototypes, and test fixtures. •Draft protocols, run verification tests, analyze data, and document results. •Support benchtop, simulated use, and clinical evaluations. •Prepare Design History File (DHF) records with guidance. Qualifications: •B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. •Demonstrated mechanical design and problem-solving skills. •3D CAD and engineering-drawing experience; SolidWorks preferred. •Prototyping, test-fixture, or robotics experience preferred. •Scripting or data-analysis experience preferred. •Operational familiarity with manufacturing, materials, GD&T, and tolerance analysis preferred. •Exposure to FDA quality systems, ISO 13485, or design controls preferred. •Medical-device or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
