Required Skills: •Lead projects to develop products that meet or exceed customer requirements and product targets. •Influence, review, and provide input to your peer’s designs, ensuring best practices are followed and lessons learned are incorporated in future projects. •Analyze risks and root out issues early in the design process, using various internal Focal Point resources, as needed. •Partner cross-functionally with regulatory and warranty teams as needed. •Assemble prototype designs, create installation spaces, and install test luminaires, when required. •Utilize a hands-on approach to product design, assembling prototype designs, creating demonstration spaces, and working closely with manufacturing. •Establish timeline commitments and coordinate communication updates to all areas of the business. •Maintain ownership of complete project deliverables, including design documentation, ordering system setup, production documentation, sales tools, cost model, etc. Qualifications: •Tenacious problem-solver, with an energetic approach to raising the bar. •Self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. •Team player with strong communication and organizational skills -ability to forge relationships with others and align on the best decision. •Detail-oriented, with a desire to “roll up your sleeves” to help your team successfully meet project deadlines. •Customer-focused with a strong sense of urgency. •Business Acumen -the ability to quickly analyze options to formulate the best value plan. •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program. •Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams through projects or organizations.
