Performs major repairs on gasoline engines of all makes and models. Performs final tune-ups. •Helps Shop Foreman and Shop Superintendent in providing guidance to lower level mechanics on all units. Also, provides assistance and advice to lower-level mechanics in the field in repairing hydraulic systems and engines. •Performs diagnostic tests on various systems to locate malfunctions in electrical Systems. •Trouble shoots and repairs transmissions in heavy-duty diesel equipment. Repairs Standard and automatic transmissions. Checks and repairs torque converters in heavy-duty diesel equipment. •Checks electrical systems to determine the nature and extent of repairs. •Removes drive lines and rebuilds on heavy duty diesel, cars and light trucks. •May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
