In this hands-on role, you’ll contribute to the development of innovative manufacturable hardware. •Own the mechanical design and development of subsystem-level hardware, from early CAD concepts to functional prototypes, all the way through mass production. •Integrate mechanical systems with sensors, actuators, and embedded control hardware. •Lead hands-on testing, including design validation and hardware iteration based on performance feedback. •Drive manufacturability, part selection, and tolerance stack-up decisions for scalable production. •Contribute to test plans, technical documentation, and engineering reviews. •Perform analytical modeling and simulation to evaluate mechanical system performance, guide design decisions, and inform trade studies. •Demonstrated capacity to support critical project milestones, including working extended hours or weekends Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. •Graduating with a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD by summer 2027 •Intermediate skills in 3D modeling and CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, etc.) for mechanical design and iteration. •Operational familiarity with lightweight materials, composites, or additive manufacturing techniques. •Knowledge of aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, or thermal management as applied to mechanical systems. •Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed. •To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. •1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. •1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
