Hiring: Math Tutor Company: Community College of Rhode Island Location: Providence, RI Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 12:14:58 Target Skills & Keywords : Zoom About the job Required Skills: •Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring online and in-person to students struggling with course subject matter. •Provide online and in-person tutoring to individuals and small groups. •Review organizational and study strategies with students. •Participate in departmental and inter-departmental meetings and attend in-service and other job-related training. •Refer students to college support services and other college departments when necessary. •Communicate with campus coordinator to ensure continued successful operation of the program. •Document tutoring outcomes using Civitas software and shared documents. •Supervise the Center in the absence of the campus coordinator or director Qualifications: •Earned bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or related field. •Submission of official college transcript(s). •A minimum of one (3) years of experience in providing tutoring in higher education, a community organization, or a high school. •Demonstrated advocacy and commitment to student success and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by community college and developmental education students. •Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of any employment visa including student visas. •Since opening its doors for the first time on September 24, 1964, the Community College of Rhode Island has created a strong foundation as the state’s only associate degree-granting institution serving all Rhode Islanders with an affordable, high-quality education.
