Hiring: Material & Tooling Director (m/f/d) Company: Nordex Group Location: Chicago, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-14 14:23:47 Target Skills & Keywords : Agile, SAP, Six Sigma About the job Experience: •5 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, logistics, tooling management, construction operations, or industrial project execution. •3 years of leadership experience managing teams, supervisors, and/or managers. •Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, logistics, tooling management, construction operations, or industrial project execution. •Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing teams, supervisors, and/or managers. Required Skills: •Develop and execute North America materials and tooling strategies that support business and project objectives. •Lead inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and tooling operations across multiple project sites. •Establish and maintain governance, policies, procedures, and performance standards for materials and tooling functions. •Oversee the planning and availability of construction materials, spare parts, and tooling required to support project schedules. •Manage tooling lifecycle activities including procurement, inspections, certifications, maintenance, calibration, and replacement. •Drive inventory accuracy through audits, cycle counts, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. •Partner with Construction, Commissioning, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sourcing, and Global teams to ensure successful project execution. •Develop and manage operating and capital budgets related to materials, warehousing, logistics, and tooling assets. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. •Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, transportation management, and asset management practices. •Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions. •Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost control initiatives. •Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. •Demonstrated capacity to travel up to 35% domestically and internationally. •Demonstrated capacity to obtain and maintain a valid passport. •Master's degree, MBA, APICS/ASCM certification, PMP, Lean, or Six Sigma certification preferred. •Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver's license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy.
