Hiring: Material Handler/Driver Company: Johnstone Supply Location: Greater Sioux Falls Area Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:37:16 Target Skills & Keywords : Workday About the job Experience: •High School Diploma/GED; 1+ years of truck driving experience (26 ft vehicle or larger) or 1 year operating Johnstone equipment/vehicles under supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Skills: •Receives product by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand. •Ensures shipments received are in good condition and accurate by: inspecting freight for damage and signing freight bills; verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received; checking all shipments against packing lists; and completing necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies. •Ensures all required products have verified bar code labels and readable Johnstone stock numbers by scanning products, printing labels, resolving labeling discrepancies, and completing necessary paperwork. •Fills orders by picking, packing items into cartons, and stacking them in a manner that minimizes damage, entering items into scan gun, and completing necessary paperwork. •Documents the shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing necessary paperwork. •Prepares orders by: preparing trucks for shipments; palletizing and wrapping orders; loading pallets and pieces into trucks; placing packing list in last skid; and completing necessary paperwork. •Maintains current accuracy and efficiency standards and follows all standard operating procedures. •Participates in inventory cycle counts and other related projects in current location and/or the market as assigned. Qualifications: •To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. •6+ months of experience in a warehouse and/or distribution facility, preferably in HVAC/R or related field. •Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices. •Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures. •Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job. •Demonstrated capacity to utilize necessary technology to complete tasks, GPS, mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices, RF equipment, and ERP software. Must be able to read a map and mapping applications accurately. •Demonstrated capacity to read, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. •Demonstrated capacity to work safely in all job tasks. •Skill in operation of delivery vehicles and power equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker; ability to operate a lift gate safely and effectively. •Must be able to lift, push, pull, and maneuver large/heavy products or pieces of equipment while working within established safety guidelines.
