Required Skills: •Tankerman are responsible for safely and efficiently transferring various types of barges, troubleshooting barges, performing minor maintenance of barges and training other Tankerman to do so in accordance with all Company procedures/standards and United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations. •Conduct barge transfers based on MPC’s procedures and all applicable USCG regulations/guidelines. •Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges. •Proficient in all phases of barge transfers, including heater operation on hot oil barges. •Maintain records and document all transfer times to be turned into the office in a timely manner. •Maintain uniforms and equipment necessary for transfers in good, clean condition so as to be ready and available for each barge transfer. •May conduct transfer audits on third-party Tankerman and assist in training new Tankerman. •Interface with customers and do so in accordance with MPC’s policies/procedures.
