Hiring: Manufacturing Engineer II - Lunar - Pumps Company: Blue Origin Location: Greater Seattle Area Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 09:44:39 Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly About the job Experience: •3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role •1+ years of experience creating English work instructions Required Skills: •Potential travel up to 10% of the time for training and other support activities. •Actively facilitate and support industrialization of new products in areas such as pumps, motors, and controllers. •Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT), key to building reliable vehicles for space exploration. •Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin’s mission. •Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space. •Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans. •Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly). •Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance. Qualifications: •Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university •Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. •Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed. Open to work extended hours if required. •Manufacturing engineering experience within aerospace or high-reliability industries. •Hands-on fabrication and assembly experience in aerospace applications, including pumps, Cryogenic fluids, harnessing. •Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T. •Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices & principles •Operational familiarity with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001). •Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification •Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
