Hiring: Manufacturing Engineer (Falcon & Dragon) Company: SpaceX Location: Hawthorne, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-15 10:36:47 Employment Type: Internship Target Skills & Keywords : Assembly, CAD, R About the job Experience: •Involvement in a professional engineering society or collegiate design project •Knowledge of metallic manufacturing techniques, processes, and equipment related to welding, metal forming, fastening, drilling, bonding and automation •Mechanical component and/or tooling design and analysis experience using 3D CAD software Required Skills: •Lead and oversee the build and inspection process for the structural assembly, propulsion assembly, and integration of the Falcon & Dragon vehicles •Develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing processes to meet all design and business requirements, including safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery •Partner cross-functionally with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve large-scale production challenges •Interface directly with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and implementation in a rapidly evolving production environment •Resolve product non-conformances and collaborate with the quality team to implement root cause corrective actions •Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet volume production demand •Develop and refine floor layouts, capacity models, and product flow analysis to ensure on-time vehicle delivery to manifest Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace, materials or industrial engineering •1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production (internship and school projects experience qualifies) •Willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed •To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. •1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. •1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
