Hiring: Manufacturing Engineer - Blue Ring Avionics Company: Blue Origin Location: Huntsville, AL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 09:44:41 Target Skills & Keywords : Accessibility, Assembly, Confluence, Jira About the job Experience: •3 years → Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer •3+ years → Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer •5+ years → Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer •8+ years → Senior Manufacturing Engineer •1+ years of experience creating English-language work instructions Required Skills: •As a part of the Operations business unit supporting Blue National Security, you will focus on the development of satellite systems aimed at solving two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. •As a member of a hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, and testing of •, you will serve as the technical authority for the subassembly and integration of spacecraft avionics panels, translating engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into precise, repeatable manufacturing processes. •Work at the intersection of electrical and mechanical disciplines, ensuring avionics panel hardware is built to the highest standards of quality, workmanship, and mission assurance. •Develop and own work instructions governing printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), cable and harness installation, panel integration, and acceptance testing — all in compliance with Qualifications: •Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university •0–3 years → Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer •Must be available to work A-Shift (M–TH, 5:00AM–3:30PM) with flexibility to adjust shift as needed and willingness to work extended hours if required •Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or ability to obtain. •Certification in one or more of the following: •J-STD-001 – Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) •IPC-6012 – Qualification and Performance of Rigid Printed Boards •IPC/WHMA-A-620 – Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies (CIS or CIT) •Prior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or space systems with a focus on avionics or electronics manufacturing. •Applied hands-on capability in avionics panel build activities, including PCBA installation, RF and data connector termination, wire harness routing and tie-down, chassis bonding, and panel-level functional testing.
