Hiring: Manager, Software and Hardware Configuration and Data Management- Lunar Permanence Company: Blue Origin Location: Denver, CO Job Posted Time: 2026-09-15 10:33:39 Target Skills & Keywords : Agile, CI/CD, Cargo, Embedded Systems, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Linux, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell About the job Experience: •5+ years leading technical teams and/or functional groups with responsibility for career management of employees •5+ years of hands-on software configuration management experience in a technical environment •Comprehensive expertise in Software Configuration Management principles, concepts, and implementation within aerospace or aviation domains •Proven software configuration control experience on recently developed products from early trade studies through final design and into manufacturing, testing, maintenance, and sustaining •Operational familiarity with DO-178C (or B) and DO-254 Required Skills: •As Manager of Software and Hardware Configuration and Data Management within the Mission Management and Integration organization, you will lead a team of configuration and data management engineers and analysts responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously improving Hardware and Software CM practices across Lunar Permanence programs. •Serve as a discipline lead — owning policies, processes, tools, and training — while ensuring configuration management rigor is maintained across all phases of the development lifecycle for both software and hardware systems. •Be at the intersection of engineering, quality, and mission assurance, building and sustaining the rigorous configuration baselines that our mission depends on. •Build and sustain a culture that values the criticality of rigorous configuration and data management and its direct role in building safe, high-performing spaceflight systems. •Lead and manage a team of Software and Hardware Configuration and Data Management engineers and analysts; responsible for hiring, performance reviews, compensation management, and career development •Manage a team of data managers responsible for Supplier Data deliverables (SDRLs) and Contractual Data deliverables (CDRLs); ensure data management rules are enforced and customer requirements are met Qualifications: •Software Engineering B.E. and Master's degree •CMII certification and deep understanding of EIA-649™ Rev. C •Proficiency in one or more scripting languages: Python, Shell, Perl, Ruby, Batch, or YAML •Background in database administration and SWCM tool administration •Archival and retrieval of historical releases; traceability between software and hardware artifacts •Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies •Operational familiarity with agile project management •B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM discipline and 8+ years of proven experience in aerospace, medical devices, automotive, or other related industries Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
