Hiring: Manager, IT Business Systems (Linux) Company: Photronics Location: Brookfield, CT Job Posted Time: 2026-09-15 12:57:41 Employment Type: Remote Target Skills & Keywords : Ansible, Bash, CentOS, Change Management, Configuration Management, Linux, MySQL, Perl, PostgreSQL, Python, RHEL, Ubuntu About the job Experience: •8+ years of progressive experience supporting Linux systems, IT infrastructure, or related enterprise technology environments •2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical teams in production support or infrastructure operations environments Required Skills: •Lead the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of enterprise Linux platforms across on-premises and hybrid environments •Remain highly hands-on by directly supporting, troubleshooting, administering, and engineering Linux systems, services, and supporting infrastructure •Serve as a senior escalation point for complex Linux incidents, production outages, performance issues, security events, and high-priority operational problems •Own incident, problem, and change management execution for Linux platforms, including timely resolution, clear communication, root-cause analysis, and durable corrective actions •Drive standardization, automation, patching, lifecycle management, configuration management, monitoring, and operational improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency •Technical Leadership •Lead, coach, and manage a small team of Linux Systems Engineers, including work prioritization, technical guidance, performance feedback, and day-to-day operational direction •Build team capability through mentoring, knowledge transfer, cross-training, and practical leadership during incidents, maintenance windows, and project execution Qualifications: •Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise Linux administration, including RHEL, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu Server, CentOS, or equivalent platforms •Strong scripting and automation skills, including advanced Bash, Python, and Ansible; familiarity with Perl or legacy automation tools is helpful •Knowledge of secure file transfer and data-movement platforms such as Aspera, CrushFTP, GATE, FileCatalyst, SFTP, or FTPS •Understanding of security and compliance practices, including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, access controls, monitoring, and audit readiness; familiarity with CMMC, NIST, and/or ISO 27001 is preferred •Solid functional working knowledge of ITIL-aligned incident, change, and problem management processes •Demonstrated capacity to lead technical teams while remaining actively involved in day-to-day infrastructure operations and senior-level troubleshooting •Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams •Commitment to continuous improvement, customer service, operational excellence, and secure technology practices •Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
