Hiring: Manager, Ground Operations Engineering Company: Sierra Space Location: Louisville, CO Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 14:19:51 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Change Management, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Security Clearance About the job Experience: •8+ years of relevant experience in spacecraft operations, launch integration, or related aerospace field •5+ years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing technical teams Required Skills: •We are seeking an experienced Manager of Ground Operations Engineering, to lead our spacecraft processing activities related to transportation, handling, prelaunch operations, and launch vehicle integration. •Strategic Leadership & Team Management •Lead and develop a team of direct and matrixed engineers, technicians, and specialists responsible for all aspects of spacecraft ground operations •Define and implement strategic direction for ground operations, including planning, investment, operations, compliance, and asset management •Develop and implement command media policies, processes, and lifecycle concepts of operations •Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement •Initial inspections and functional testing of spacecraft systems •Integration of payloads and scientific instruments Qualifications: •We’re looking for team members who align with our values, mission and goals – while also meeting the minimum qualifications below. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. •Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field •Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in spacecraft operations, launch integration, or related aerospace field •The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required. •Demonstrated knowledge of spacecraft systems, launch vehicle interfaces, and ground support equipment •Knowledge of clean room protocols and contamination control •Operational familiarity with range safety requirements and launch site operations •Strong leadership, collaboration and team development skills •Excellent communication and presentation abilities •Demonstrated capacity to work effectively under pressure in time-critical situations Compensation: •$145,561 - $200,145 / year Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
