Managers remain substantively involved in the work while bearing accountability for engagement quality, economics, and client outcomes. •Own the monthly and quarterly close process for assigned clients, including review of the general ledger, accruals, account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and supporting workpapers •Ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and defensible for use by ownership, boards, lenders, investors, and prospective acquirers •Develop and maintain management reporting packages, including key performance indicators, dashboards, budget-to-actual analysis, cash forecasting, and accompanying analytical commentary •Design and implement accounting processes, internal controls, and close calendars for clients whose finance infrastructure has not kept pace with the business •Resolve technical accounting matters and coordinate with the firm's tax and assurance divisions on matters requiring cross-divisional input •Review Associate work product, including financial models, diligence schedules, reporting packages, and workpapers, for technical accuracy, completeness, and analytical sufficiency •Direct and review first-line accounting work performed by the firm's general accounting team, and maintain standards for quality and turnaround Qualifications: •Six or more years of relevant experience across public accounting, outsourced controller and CFO services, transaction advisory services, or corporate accounting and finance leadership •Demonstrated controller-level capability, including primary ownership of a close process •Substantive review experience and the ability to develop staff through the review process •Proven effectiveness in direct interaction with business owners and executive management, including the communication of unfavorable findings •Strong technical accounting foundation in U.S. GAAP, applied proportionately to privately held companies •Active CPA licensure strongly preferred; CFA designation or MBA also valued •Direct experience in commercial real estate accounting and finance, M&A due diligence or quality of earnings, or fractional CFO and controller delivery •Demonstrated record of establishing finance and accounting process in environments lacking existing infrastructure •Professional Development •Managers hold client relationships directly and work across Advisory's practice areas with regular access to the Director of Advisory Services.
