Hiring: Maintenance Tech II Company: Smurfit Westrock Location: Bolingbrook, IL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 13:19:03 About the job Required Skills: •How You Will Make an Impact •Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and material handling equipment to support safe and reliable plant operations. •Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and overall operational effectiveness. •Inspect production equipment and systems to identify potential failures, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement. •Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings to support troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations. •Fabricate, weld, assemble, and modify mechanical components, guards, brackets, and related equipment as needed. •Utilize maintenance management systems and computer-based tools to document work performed, submit parts requests, and maintain accurate maintenance records. •Support and mentor Maintenance Technician I team members through training, guidance, and knowledge sharing. Qualifications: •Shift: M-F 6am-2pm overtime and weekends as needed •High school diploma or GED. •Minimum of two years of industrial maintenance experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems. •Solid functional working knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair techniques. •Demonstrated capacity to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation. •Basic welding and metal fabrication skills. •Basic computer proficiency and ability to document maintenance activities electronically. •Demonstrated capacity to work overtime, respond to emergency maintenance situations, and support non-standard business hours as needed. •Demonstrated capacity to safely operate maintenance-related equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and personnel transport vehicles. •Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
