Hiring: Maintenance Planner/Scheduler Company: Alcoa Location: Lake Charles, LA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 14:04:12 Employment Type: Remote Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office, SAP, Six Sigma About the job Required Skills: •Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance plans that clearly define job scope, labor requirements, materials, tools, equipment, permits, timing, and execution sequencing. •Coordinate and manage maintenance schedules for internal craft personnel, multi-craft maintenance teams, and contracted maintenance labor while balancing maintenance priorities with production goals and shipping requirements. •Maintain a forward-looking schedule of planned work and ensure required materials are identified, procured, staged, and kitted in advance of scheduled execution. •Prepare descriptive work instructions, develop new work packs, update existing work packs, and support continuous improvement of maintenance processes through review of execution feedback and lessons learned. •Support maintenance craft personnel through clear weekly plans, accurate job scopes, complete work packages, and alignment with REX standards and Target State expectations. •Ensure compliance with REX Material Management standards, including the kitting process, spare parts readiness, unused parts return, and coordination with warehouse, expediting, and material support functions. •Confirm all required labor, tools, parts, equipment, specialty devices, contractor support, and technical resources are organized and available prior to job execution. •Lead or support weekly planning meetings to review upcoming work, resolve constraints, confirm material readiness, and align maintenance execution priorities. Qualifications: •High School Diploma or equivalent. •Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with maintenance, operations, warehouse, contractors, and management. •Demonstrated capacity to plan, prioritize, and coordinate work across a complex schedule of maintenance activities. •Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt when priorities, constraints, or schedules change. •Demonstrated capacity to write standard job work instructions and develop clear work instruction packages. •Previous experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical or electrical planning, procurement, kitting, scheduling, or maintenance execution support. •Demonstrated capacity to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, equipment documentation, and engineering information. •Previous experience in heavy industry, utilities, manufacturing, or a similar asset-intensive environment. •Preferred combination of an AS or BS degree and relevant maintenance or technical experience, or equivalent experience totaling approximately five years in a maintenance or technical role.
