Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. •Troubleshoots, repairs, and programs computerized access control systems. •Assists clients in unlocking doors when keys are lost or in changing lock combinations by inserting new pins into lockets. •Installs and repairs electric strikes and electronic security hardware. •Upgrades and maintains routine and non-routine security systems. •Designs and develops master key systems for clients. •Examines locking mechanisms and fabricates keys to replace lost or damaged keys. •Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations. •Estimates cost, time, and materials for locksmith projects.
