This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and securing Linux-based systems and infrastructure in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring reliable support for Army Information Technology Portfolio (AITP) systems and mission-critical operations. •This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional to support enterprise-class Linux environments within a secure Department of Defense setting. Working alongside experienced engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity professionals, the Linux System Administrator will help maintain system availability, resolve technical issues, implement security requirements, and support infrastructure modernization initiatives. This dynamic role is ideal for a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to evolving mission requirements, and independently driving tasks to completion while supporting critical operational needs. •Job Responsibilities: •Monitor system performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain operational readiness. •Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Linux operating systems, applications, and supporting services in accordance with security and compliance requirements. •Perform system hardening in accordance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other cybersecurity mandates. •Manage user accounts, permissions, authentication services, and access controls across enterprise Linux environments. •Configure and maintain enterprise services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, SSH, web services, and file-sharing solutions.
